The gift of an hour! What will you do with yours?

How often do you wish you had more time? Well, you’re in luck…the majority of the United States will be gaining an extra hour on Sunday, 11/6/22. I have a few guidelines to make that hour just what you need as you enter into this busy holiday season.

Guidelines:

  1. I highly encourage you to spend this 1 hour alone. No kids, spouses, friends, animals involved. This is for YOU alone.

  2. I highly encourage you not to bring your calendar nor to-do list.

  3. This 1 hour is for you to

    a. Do something that makes you absolutely giddy with joy.

    b. Do something that is nourishing, nurturing, purely indulgent for YOU.

That’s it…if you need more, keep reading. If you have the permission you need to luxuriate in the extra 1 hour, good for you! Enjoy, my friend.

Why alone? Yes, you would probably love catching up or spending time with someone you love, but let’s be honest, as soon as you invite someone else into the mix, there are compromises and negotiations that transpire. Sure, that’s fine at other times…but not for this 1 hour. P.S. that includes walking the dog. Want to go for a walk? Great…leave the dog at home this time.

Why no to-do list or calendar? This isn’t about crossing more off your to-do list. It’s not about doing. It’s about being. Again, if we’re being honest, so what if you cross another task or two off your list. That’s not the end of the list so what’s the point? All those tasks will still be there at the end of this 1 hour.

Why giddy with joy? When was the last time you spent time doing something that absolutely tickled you? Made you smile ear to ear and crave more of it? That’s what I thought. You probably had to think back a bit because we busy women almost always put everyone before ourselves. Not this time…nope, for this 1 hour, you get to bring absolute joy into your life.

Why nourishing/nurturing/purely indulgent? OK, seriously, WHY NOT! It’s 1 hour! If you don’t think you’re worth this 1 hour that, remember is extra, a gift, I am truly sorry.

If it wasn’t abundantly obvious, we’re talking about 1 hour!

Regardless of your feelings around setting clocks forward or back. It’s here. You don’t have a choice. Accept this gift with grace and enjoy!

Until we meet again…enjoy your journey (and your 1 hour 😊).
